Wake Up to Trade Justice transport organisers page

Thank you for organising transport to the Wake Up to Trade Justice event in London on Friday 15 - Saturday 16 April 2005. This page contains important information for people organising, or thinking of organising, transport to London.

Booking your coach

Look in the Yellow Pages or Thompson Directory under Coach Hire.

Phone around and ask for quotes for a coach giving them the following information:

  • The pick-up point for Friday 15 April.
  • The drop-off point on Saturday 16 April (the same as the pick-up point).
  • The time you want to arrive in London. This will be 9.00pm (for 10.00pm start).
  • The time you wish to leave London (the main programme will finish at 8.00am, but people are free to leave at any time they wish).
  • That the coach is required to do nothing else in London in-between those times.
  • That there will be designated drop-off and pick-up points for the event, and advice on coach parking in London available on this website.

Any reputable company should be able to provide you with a quote there and then. However it is worth visiting them to look at the coach before you make your final decision.

Booked a coach/thinking about booking a coach?
Send an email with your contact details and where you are travelling from and we will put it on the notice board (e-mail coaches@tjm.org.uk).  Please then check this web page from time to time for any information updates and advice on coach parking in London.

Coach parking in London
Please find below drop-off points and parking advice for coach drivers.

  • The drop-off point for passengers in Westminster is Tothill Street, outside Methodist Central Hall, at the time that you decide on Friday 15th April. (NB. The doors open for the opening rally in Westminster Abbey at 9pm)
  • The pick-up point is the same as the drop-off point above, at 8 am on Saturday 16th April.

Please note that there is no designated coach park for this event; coach drivers will need to find their own parking spaces in London for the duration of the evening. Coach operators should already have information on designated parking areas, but if they need further advice, please advise them to visit the following website for maps, parking lists, rules and regulations and other up-to-date information: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/vcs/coach-parking/. Alternatively, they can contact Transport for London on 020 7941 4500.

It is essential that you let us know if you are organising transport to London (e-mail coaches@tjm.org.uk).
