24 Hours for Trade Justice
Please help make Scale Up for Trade Justice a success by lobbying your MP between noon on Friday 27 June and noon on Saturday 28 June
You don't have to do it alone! Click here to find out if other campaigners in your constituency are already planning to lobby your MP.
If they are, contact the event organiser to find out what has been arranged.
If no lobby event is planned for your constituency, please arrange to meet the MP yourself.
If you've never lobbied your MP before don't worry! It's easy.
First, book a meeting with your MP.
-
Phone the local constituency office - look in the Yellow Pages under 'Political Organisations' - or write to your MP at The House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA
-
Or send your MP a fax, click here
Prepare for the meeting
-
Don't assume your MP will know any more about trade issues than you do - the chances are they won't!
-
Rehearse what you want to say beforehand - and think about questions the MP may raise.

-
Enter details of your meeting on the Action Exchange so that others can join you.
When you meet your MP
-
Ask your MP to write to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Patricia Hewitt, requesting action for trade justice at the WTO Ministerial Meeting in September.
-
If your MP asks you a question you can't answer, don't worry - offer to get back to them with the information. You can contact organizations in the Trade Justice Movement for help.
-
Remain polite and courteous throughout.
